IPS - Interactive Point Selection

This section describes the usage of the NRU developed registration method for the Interactive Point Selection (IPS) approach to coregistration. The basis of the method is selection of a suitable number of points or landmarks in the two different image modalities, and an estimation of a 6 parameter tranformation (rigid body - rotation/translation) transfer function. The algorithm can be broken into a number of steps, described in the paragraphs to follow.
